SHOREDITCH - A hidden courtyard

Hidden behind a solid iron gate, this courtyard garden is testimony that even with little space, limited light but a clever use of pots we can create an oasis of green right at our doorstep. The courtyard was originally only a connecting corridor between the residential building and the road. The client was keen to have some greenery without having to do heavy building works. After consultations with the client, I created the first designs envisioning this courtyard like a secret garden, with huge tree fern fronds gently waiving on the wind. Accessibility was a must and all plants were carefully chosen to perfectly fit the space, maintaining a safe passage for all needs.
